THE GAME & YOUR NEXT STEP

What is Dungeon Settlers?

Dungeon Settlers combines colony management with dungeon exploration in a dark fantasy setting. Build a settlement, provide food and shelter, recruit expedition members and research new equipment. Your home base supports the party that ventures into the dungeon, while resources from exploration help your settlement grow.

Combat runs in real time with pause, with a party of up to four and permanent death. This Dungeon Settlers Wiki connects the practical questions between those systems: which materials to save, where to craft supplies and what research unlocks the next project. Read the official game overview for the developer’s introduction.

One Basic Camping Kit uses these base materials at the Basic Workstation:

Its research unlock, Campsite Setup, requires 3 Tech Books and Hunting Processing. Material amounts are base costs; management difficulty may change them.

FIND THE ANSWER YOU NEED

Explore the Dungeon Settlers database

The Dungeon Settlers Wiki covers 244 items, 161 crafting recipes, 14 workstations and 31 research entries. Use a name you recognize from the game, or start with the task you are trying to complete. Each catalog connects to the next part of the same decision.

Look up an item and its uses

The Dungeon Settlers item database brings together equipment, materials, food, consumables, ammunition and camping supplies. Compare base price, weight and stack limits, then open an item to read its description. Materials such as Textile also link to the recipes that consume them, so you can check which projects need your stock before spending it.

Find a recipe and plan materials

Use the crafting recipes and material planner to search for a finished item or an ingredient you already have. Each recipe lists its output, direct materials and permitted workstations. Alternative recipes remain separate, making it easier to compare their ingredients. For a larger batch, change the number of crafts and read the updated base quantities before gathering supplies.

Build the right workstation

A recipe is only part of the preparation. The workstation guide shows construction materials, indoor requirements and research unlocks alongside the recipes each station supports. For example, the Alchemist Workstation page connects its building requirements to Ointment and other recipes. Follow those links to separate the cost of the station from the supplies you intend to make.

Follow research prerequisites

The Dungeon Settlers research guide links studies to their prerequisites, required items and unlocked equipment or buildings. Start with the thing you want to unlock, then work back through the research requirements. Tech Book costs belong to research; they are separate from construction materials and crafting ingredients. Research pages also show which studies can follow next.

TURN A LOOKUP INTO A PLAN

How to use Dungeon Settlers Wiki

Choose a small goal and follow its requirements across the database. These examples are planning suggestions, not a prescribed build order.

Prepare food for an expedition

Open Grilled Meat to check its recipe and available workstations, then compare it with other food items. The planner calculates ingredients for your chosen number of crafts. It does not estimate how long that food will last, so choose quantities for your own party and intended trip.

Plan a settlement improvement

Start with a workstation or an item you want to make. Check the research unlock first, then reserve construction materials and recipe ingredients separately. If the same material appears in both lists, include both costs in your plan. Item pages help you see those competing uses in one place.

Check a control or changed mechanic

The Dungeon Settlers handbook covers selected mechanics with dated sources. Look up inventory stack controls, recruitment and trait locks, or the Explosion skill. Use update notes to identify the relevant patch before applying older advice to a new session.

Review before you leave

Use the expedition checklist to review your party, equipment, supplies and settlement. Checkmarks stay in your browser and can be reset for another run. The checklist links back to item recipes and handbook controls, so you can resolve a missing supply or an unfamiliar action while preparing.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Dungeon Settlers Wiki questions

Which game version does this wiki cover?

Item, recipe, workstation and research values refer to Early Access build 25154317. Handbook entries name their own sources and patch versions, including v0.4.17 and v0.4.19. Check the version beside an answer when a value differs from your game, and consult sources and coverage for the limits of the reference.

Why can the materials in my game be different?

Crafting and construction pages show base quantities. Management difficulty can change the amount required. The crafting planner multiplies direct recipe ingredients; it does not apply difficulty adjustments or add materials for making those ingredients. Open each ingredient’s item page if you need to plan that earlier crafting step.

Does an item page explain where to find every item?

No. A listed recipe explains how to craft an item at the named workstation, but gathering locations, enemy drops and shop inventories are not covered here. An item without a listed recipe may still have useful description and base-stat information. Missing recipe information does not mean the item is unobtainable.

Is this the official Dungeon Settlers Wiki?

This is an independent, unofficial fan reference, unaffiliated with CanOpener or WhisperGames. Game descriptions and data are distinguished from Wiki planning suggestions. Values and suggestions have not been independently verified through gameplay; the About page explains the sources behind the reference.
